Goals for the year

This year in Modern Literature, I think we will have a great time. It is Mr. Byron's favorite subject to teach and it seems interesting to me. Already having taken British Literature and American Literature, it will be interesting to find a third piece to that puzzle.
I expect the class to be filled with the normal English Class essentials such as the research paper, group work, and large class discussions. In my opinion, I enjoy modern day aspects more than i do older ones. Therefore, I will enjoy this course more than any other English course I have taken throughout my high school career. I would like to get to know some of the Modern day authors and their writing styles, and I can't wait to read the book Maus parts 1 and 2. I would not like to study too much poetry because i don't find it that interesting and it is not my strong suit.
This year I am hoping to pass the course fairly convincingly. I hope that i have a great time in this class whether its doing work or having a class discussion. I would like to do very well on the research paper in order to prove to myself that i have become a better writer throughout high school. Finally, I would like to get the feel for college essays by using this class as a tool to do so. That way, I will hopefully get accepted into my school of choice and move on in my life.
